The Chicago Fire Department tackled a severe 2-11 Alarm blaze today (February 9, 2016), which also involved hazardous materials at Level I, at an auto repair shop located at 221 West 65th Street.

Attached were several compelling images showcasing the firefighting efforts. One showed Chicago FD's Tower Ladder 37 positioned strategically at the scene. Another depicted heavy smoke billowing from the winter fire site. There were also clear shots of Engine 84 and Squad 1A in action, highlighting the coordinated response of the department.
Later, Josh Boyajian shared his own set of photographs taken after the initial 2-11 alarm had been called in. He noted that even though he arrived later, there was still significant fire under portions of the roof that hadn't collapsed, making it challenging for firefighters to direct their water streams effectively.
Boyajian’s collection included various angles of the firefighting operation, capturing moments like multiple fire trucks gathered at the scene, a Snorkel 1A in action, and Battalion Chief 19 overseeing operations. His photos also highlighted the use of advanced equipment, such as the versatile multi-versal apparatus, and older but still vital vehicles like the ONE tower ladder contributing to the effort.
These images not only document the scale and intensity of the fire but also illustrate the dedication and professionalism of the Chicago Fire Department in handling such complex situations.
