· Volvo's global sales increased by 15.5% in August. 90 series became the main driving force

According to data released by Volvo's official website, Volvo's retail sales in 2017 is expected to break records again. Its global sales in August increased by 15.5% compared with the same period last year, reaching 37,879 units. Cumulative sales in January-August climbed to 359,798 units, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%. The increase in sales was mainly driven by the new 90 series and the first generation XC60.
As the world's largest market for Volvo, China's sales in August increased by 25.9% to 9,616 units. Driven by this, Volvo's sales in the Asia Pacific region topped the world's major markets, with Volvo's sales in the Asia Pacific region reaching 12,586 units, an increase of 20.2% compared to the same period last year. The XC60, S60L and S90 produced locally in China continue to play a major driving role.
In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Volvo's sales in August rose 18.9% year-on-year to 15,637 units, and demand for the new V90, XC90 and XC60 continued to rise. Sweden and Germany are the main driving markets, with Volvo selling 4,853 units in Sweden, an increase of 49.1% compared with the same period last year. In addition, markets such as Italy, France, Norway and Spain also performed well.
Volvo's sales in the Americas have grown at a rate of 5% to 9,486 units, with sales in the US reaching 7,994 units. Volvo's best-selling model in the Americas is the XC90, followed by the first generation XC60.
