Electricity meter bidding breaks monopoly

Recently, the National Grid announced the first batch of candidates for the first batch of electric energy meters and bidding information procurement equipment in 2014. From the list, it can be seen that the purchase of smart meters has broken the monopoly situation of the big four companies last year.

Among them, Hao Ningda has revealed that the total number of products won by the company is 771,795, and the total bid amount is expected to be approximately RMB 164,822,000. The number of successful bids for Level 2 single-phase fee-controlled smart energy meters was 731,745 and the amount was RMB 14,523.79 million; the number of successful one-phase three-phase energy-saving smart energy meters was 40,050, and the amount was RMB 19.6243 million.

In addition, HKUST Intelligence has revealed that its company is expected to bid for RMB 41,146,500. Its main products are concentrators, collectors and special collection terminals. Holley Instruments, Wasion Group, Linyang Electronics, and Samsung Electronics still hold the top spot, but Juhua Technology is the most interesting one. As the electric energy meter company that was only listed last year, it was able to obtain the sixth tender share. Obviously, strength should not be underestimated.

In 2014, the State Grid plans to install 60 million new smart meters, doubling the amount planned for 2013. Juhua Technology defeated Hao Ningda to occupy the top six, thanks to a good momentum in the development of the smart meter market this year.
