Recently, Lu Anhui, a professor at Dalian University of Technology, has creatively proposed that the Sn @ C composites be prepared by in-situ growth of the metal-organic framework ZIF-8 using a solvent-free method using a nanosized binary metal oxide (ZnSnO3) as a precursor. According to the theory of soft and hard acids and bases, 2-methylimidazole as the boundary alkali preferentially combines with boundary acid Zn2 + to generate ZIF-8. The subsequent pyrolysis process converts ZIF-8 into a nitrogen-containing conductive carbon network, and the ZnSnO3 carbon is thermally reduced to nanometers Tin particles and elemental zinc, elemental zinc due to lower melting point at high temperature dynamic volatilization to create rich pores, is conducive to ion and electron transport.

Preparation of high energy density and high power density of lithium ion battery electrode materials in recent years, research hot spots. Tin-based materials because of its high specific capacity, is considered to be a potential alternative to traditional graphite anode material. However, severe volumetric expansion during charging and discharging leads to electrode pulverization and particle agglomeration, resulting in rapid capacity decay and low conductivity. The development of effective electrode material preparation methods to improve the conductivity of composite electrode materials is to improve the electrochemical properties of tin anode key.

The new synthesis method ensures the high dispersion of tin nanoparticles in the composites. The developed pore structure and high nitrogen content can effectively relieve the volume expansion and increase the conductivity in lithium intercalation. The battery performance test results show that the Sn @ C composites prepared for the first time discharge capacity of 1321 mA h g-1, the first coulomb efficiency up to 80.1%. The capacity remained at 901 mA h g-1 after 150 cycles. In addition, this synthesis method can be extended to prepare other materials, also show excellent electrochemical properties.
