Early this morning, around 6:30 AM on Thursday, the Northwest Homer Fire District responded to an active house fire located at 16307 W 146th Pl in Lockport Heights. When emergency crews arrived, they found significant flames engulfing the second floor and the back portion of the residence. Additional support was quickly requested, bringing in resources from neighboring areas. A Lockport engine and a Lemont ladder truck were dispatched through auto aid, while the full still assignment included Orland and Homer engines, along with ambulances from Plainfield and Mokena, plus a Lemont battalion chief. Firefighters worked diligently, deploying two lines to combat the blaze and using the tower ladder to manage the eaves.
