Ferrara Fire Apparatus recently delivered a medium-duty rescue unit to the Melrose Park Fire Department. The unit is built on a Freightliner M2106 chassis and includes a powerful light tower, essential rescue tools, and ample storage for multiple air cylinders. This new addition enhances the department's ability to respond to a variety of emergency situations with greater efficiency.
Last year, Ferrara also missed delivering two Intruder 2 engines to another department. These units feature the HME 1871 cab and chassis, equipped with 1500 GPM pumps and 500 gallons of water capacity. While the delivery was delayed, the units are expected to arrive soon, further strengthening the fire department's fleet.
A recent photo shows the newly delivered medium-duty rescue unit in action, mounted on the Freightliner chassis. The image highlights the unit’s robust design and its readiness for emergency response. Another picture captures a similar unit, showcasing Ferrara’s consistent quality and reliability.
Additionally, Ferrara has started work on a rear-mount tower ladder for the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Department. This unit will include an extended Inferno cab with an 8-inch notched roof extension, providing better visibility and space for the crew. The 100-foot tower will be equipped with a 1500 GPM pump and carry 300 gallons of water, making it a powerful tool for high-rise and structural fires.
