Larry Shapiro recently shared some details about a fire incident that occurred on July 8, 2016, at a split-level house located at 809 Holyoke Court in Schaumburg. Firefighters were dispatched early Friday morning to address a fire that had broken out in the laundry room. As the first emergency vehicles arrived on the scene, thick smoke could be seen billowing out of the lower level windows. This prompted an immediate escalation to a Code 4 working fire status. Once inside, the firefighters quickly determined that the fire was confined to just one room and managed to extinguish it efficiently while also clearing the area of smoke. Backup teams were then stood down.
Interestingly, this wasn't the first major fire event in the neighborhood. Back in March 2011, Schaumburg’s firefighting units responded to a fully involved house fire directly across the street, which even triggered a Box Alarm response.
