On Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 PM, the Northbrook Fire Department responded to a train derailment near the bridge over Shermer Road, just south of Willow Road. The first units on scene were Glenview Engine 8 and Northbrook Tower 12, who arrived to find a brush fire along the road. Several coal cars had derailed, spilling coal from the overpass down onto the street below. The bridge, which had been rebuilt in November 2009 following a previous derailment at the same location, was now completely destroyed. No injuries were reported, and officials stated that no vehicles were under the bridge at the time of the accident. A Box Alarm was called due to the intense heat, but firefighters were eventually released without having to engage in active firefighting. Tim Olk arrived at the scene before the flames were fully extinguished and plans to share his photos later. Larry Shapiro, a local photographer, arrived shortly after and captured several images of the scene from both sides of the bridge. Weather Resistant Steel Plate

Corten steel can be exposed to the atmosphere without painting. It begins to rust in the same way as ordinary Carbon Steel Plate. But soon the alloying elements in it cause a protective surface layer of fine-textured rust to form, thereby suppressing corrosion rate. Weather resistant Steel Plate a good resistance to corrosion than other steel plate, it has smallest alloy elements not like stainless steel and its price is more cheaper than stainless. In this way. The weathering steel helps to reduce lifecycle costs and environment burdens in a wide range of applications.

Shandong Huitong Steel Co., Ltd. is a company with more than 10 years of experience. We are located in Liaocheng, one of the largest steel producing areas in China. We have our own production plant. We also deal in Wear Resistant Steel Plate, etc. Welcome to purchase.

Weathering steel, i.e. atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel (Corten Steel), is a series of low-alloy steel between ordinary steel and stainless steel. Weathering steel is made of ordinary carbon steel with a small amount of corrosion-resistant elements such as copper and nickel. It has the characteristics of toughness, plasticity, forming, welding and cutting, abrasion, high temperature and fatigue resistance of high-quality steel. The weathering resistance is 2-8 times of ordinary carbon steel and the coating performance is 1.5-10 times of ordinary carbon steel. At the same time, it has the characteristics of rust resistance, corrosion resistance, life extension, thinning and consumption reduction, labor saving and energy saving. Weathering steel is mainly used in railway, vehicle, bridge, tower, photovoltaic, high-speed engineering and other steel structures exposed to the atmosphere for a long time. It is used to manufacture containers, railway vehicles, oil derricks, seaport buildings, oil production platforms and containers containing hydrogen sulfide corrosive medium in chemical and petroleum equipme.
