[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] Recently, the “Key Technology of Micro Atomic Spin Gyro Based on Magnetic Resonance” project has been successfully developed. This project has further improved the accuracy and integration of micro-miniature atom spin gyroscopes based on magnetic resonance.

All-air, full-time, seamless positioning and navigation is the technical commanding point of the future positioning and navigation industry. With the rapid development of quantum precision measurement technology, gyroscopes and inertial navigation systems based on quantum precision measurement have the advantages of high accuracy, small size, and low cost, and will provide disruptive new technologies in the field of seamless positioning and navigation.

The "12th Five-Year Plan" 863 Program Earth Observation and Navigation Technology Thematic project "Magnetic resonance-based miniature atom spin gyroscope key technology" was undertaken by Beijing Institute of Automation Control Equipment. The project research and development carried out a breakthrough in one and a half years. The project team has captured precision quantum manipulation techniques such as nuclear spin-electron spin coupling polarization and detection, completed the precision design and manufacture of miniaturized magnetic resonance chambers, high-efficiency magnetic shielding and other components, and successfully developed China’s first magnetic-based technology. The technical breakthrough of the atomic gyroscope makes the volume, quality, power consumption, cost, etc. of existing seamless positioning navigation systems used in high-end equipment drop by about two orders of magnitude. It will be used in the mass positioning navigation market and can be applied in the small volume and low cost. Under the condition of achieving meter-level positioning accuracy, it provides a satellite-free full-space, full-time, seamless positioning and navigation capability.
