TORONTO, August 1, 2024 — Rexel Energy Solutions (RES), a division of Nedco, has joined forces with ChargeLab to support Canadian businesses in securing up to 50% grant funding for the purchase and installation of new electric vehicle (EV) chargers. This opportunity is available through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP), managed by Natural Resources Canada. Applications for ZEVIP opened on July 2, 2024, and will close on September 19, 2024. This marks the first round of ZEVIP funding available to EV charger owners and operators since 2022. Eligible applicants include Canadian businesses, utilities, municipalities, condo corporations, or any other site host installing at least two DC fast chargers or 20 Level 2 chargers. The grant covers up to 50% of total project costs, with a maximum of $5 million per organization. Rexel Energy Solutions is a full-service department within Nedco, one of Canada’s leading electrical wholesale suppliers. RES specializes in EV charging systems, smart building controls, and energy efficiency technologies. Their comprehensive services cover everything from system design and equipment procurement to installation and commissioning. In partnership with ChargeLab, RES now offers a ZEVIP service that includes expert consultation, hardware selection, and assistance with application questions. RES distributes top EV charger brands like ABB, Zerova, and Wallbox, all of which are compatible with ChargeLab’s network management platform. ChargeLab provides software solutions for managing EV charging infrastructure, enabling businesses to deploy, monetize, and manage their chargers efficiently. Networking EV chargers is a key requirement of ZEVIP, and ChargeLab helps site hosts meet this requirement seamlessly. They also offer tailored uptime reporting tools to meet ZEVIP’s new compliance standards. “Together, RES and ChargeLab provide the perfect solution for businesses and installers looking to access ZEVIP funding,” said Zak Lefevre, CEO of ChargeLab. “We offer expert guidance, compliant hardware and software, and full support with the grant application process.” RES and ChargeLab encourage potential applicants to reach out before August 30, 2024, to allow enough time to prepare a strong application before the deadline. ZEVIP is a competitive program run by Natural Resources Canada. RES and ChargeLab are not official delivery agents of NRCan and do not influence the selection process.
