TORONTO, August 1, 2024 — Rexel Energy Solutions (RES), a division of Nedco, has teamed up with ChargeLab to assist Canadian businesses in accessing up to 50% grant funding for the purchase and installation of new electric vehicle (EV) chargers. This opportunity is made possible through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP), managed by Natural Resources Canada.
The ZEVIP application window opened on July 2, 2024, and will close on September 19, 2024. This marks the first round of funding since 2022, offering a valuable chance for eligible entities to reduce their EV charging infrastructure costs. Eligible applicants include Canadian businesses, utilities, municipalities, condo corporations, or any site host installing at least two DC fast chargers or 20 Level 2 chargers. The maximum grant per organization is $5 million, covering up to half of the total project cost.
Rexel Energy Solutions, as a turnkey division of Nedco, provides comprehensive services for EV charger installations, including system design, equipment procurement, and commissioning. With a focus on energy efficiency and electrification, RES offers leading brands like ABB, Zerova, and Wallbox, all compatible with ChargeLab’s network management solutions.
ChargeLab’s platform enables businesses to manage, monetize, and deploy EV charging hardware efficiently. As part of the ZEVIP requirements, networking EV chargers is essential, and ChargeLab helps site hosts meet these standards seamlessly. The company also provides tailored uptime reporting tools to support compliance with ZEVIP guidelines.
“By combining our expertise, RES and ChargeLab offer a complete solution for businesses aiming to secure ZEVIP funding,†said Zak Lefevre, CEO of ChargeLab. “We provide expert guidance, compliant hardware and software, and full support throughout the grant application process.â€
To maximize their chances of success, applicants are encouraged to reach out to RES and ChargeLab before August 30, 2024, to ensure they have enough time to prepare a strong application.
It's important to note that while RES and ChargeLab are not official delivery agents of Natural Resources Canada, they are committed to helping applicants navigate the ZEVIP program effectively. For the most accurate and detailed information, visit NRCan’s official ZEVIP website.
