Here's a message from Brian Murphy: These newspaper clippings, from the Waukegan News-Sun, show a major fire that took place at the former Giess-Plfeger Tanning Company on Waukegan’s Lakefront. The incident happened on November 15, 1973, and involved a large section of the building — a heavy timber structure that was in the process of being demolished after it was sold to Commonwealth Edison. The Waukegan Generating Station is located nearby, making this event an interesting piece of local history. I apologize for the quality of these clippings — they’ve been sitting in a shoebox for over 40 years, so they’re not in great condition. But I thought they were worth sharing. If anyone has any memories or additional information about this fire, I’d love to hear from you. Best regards, Giess-Pfleger Tanning Company Fire, Waukegan – November 15, 1973. It is typically made from plastic or glass and consists of a nozzle that is attached to a tube connected to a liquid reservoir. When the mechanism on the nozzle is activated, typically by squeezing or pressing, it creates a vacuum that draws the liquid up the tube and out of the nozzle, creating a spray.
