This is from Dennis McGuire, Jr.:

Chicago Still & Box 8240 S. Justine Ave – 2-3-2015
It was around 1 AM when Engine 73 responded to a two-story, 50x75 residential structure with heavy fire in the rear enclosed porches. The weather was brutal—19 inches of snow had fallen the day before, and it was 8 degrees with a wind chill of zero. Because of the extreme conditions, the officer called for a "Box" unit. I arrived shortly after the fire was under control, and the crews were in the process of overhaul.

The scene was intense. Snow was still on the ground, and the cold made everything harder. It’s always tough to work in those conditions, but we pushed through. I took these photos as I was waiting for the crew to finish their overhaul. It’s a reminder of how challenging firefighting can be, especially during the worst of winter.
