Whether you drive an SUV, crossover, or even a sedan like the Toyota Camry, you can safely and easily tow small to medium-sized cargo around town — as long as you have the right knowledge and equipment.
If you're in the market for a serious towing vehicle but aren't a fan of traditional trucks, the Toyota Highlander XLE is an excellent alternative. The 2014–2019 models boast a towing capacity that actually exceeds that of the Toyota Tacoma, which maxes out at 3,500 pounds. As the top trim level of the Highlander, the XLE is equipped with a V6 engine and offers an optional towing package, allowing it to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
