Not long after the two universities in Washington, DC, they plan to start purchasing electricity from half of the solar farms 400 kilometers away. The school expects the project will save millions of dollars over the next few decades, making the university more attractive to students.

Experts say that this one-time full-power project shows that this will be part of a daily business. Solar panels cover the roofs and other American university buildings, creating a fraction of the power needed to power the campus.
