Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao also announced new arrangements for regional air quality release. In addition to increasing the air quality monitoring stations in Guangdong and Hong Kong, the Taitanshan Air Quality Monitoring Sub-station in Macau has also officially joined the Pearl River Delta Regional Air Monitoring Network. The network was renamed the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Pearl River Delta Regional Air Monitoring Network to expand the coverage of monitoring networks and enhance spatial representation.
According to reports, the monitoring stations of the three monitoring networks will be increased from 16 to 23: Guangdong will add another 5 to the original 13 air quality monitoring stations; Hong Kong will add Yuen Long to the original 3 monitoring stations. Monitoring sub-station; Macau joins the Tai Tam Shan monitoring sub-station in Taipa. The monitoring network monitors carbon monoxide and fine particulate matter in addition to monitoring the four main air pollutants of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ozone and respirable particulate matter.
It is understood that the monitoring network will release real-time concentrations of various air pollutants every hour to replace the regional air quality index that was released once a day. In addition, the monitoring network will provide the latest air quality assessment index in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao: Macau and Guangdong will publish the air quality index of Macau and the air quality index of Guangdong every hour and every 24 hours according to their respective ambient air quality standards and evaluation methods; Hong Kong will also publish an Air Quality Health Index every hour.
