This time, they were asked to help locate a firearm that had been tossed into the Des Plaines River near Route 176 in Libertyville. Swift water divers were sent into the river, but they couldn’t find the gun. They plan to continue the search today. Fire officials said the suspect is in custody, but they want to test the gun to see if it was involved in other incidents.
