According to reports, the Eurasian Economic Commission announced the launch of anti-dumping investigations on Chinese tires and trucks, passenger cars, dump trucks and trailer tires.

According to the Information Office of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the survey included rims ranging from 17.5 to 24.5 inches in diameter, speed class F (80 km/h) to H (210 km/h) and a load index of 115 for various trucks, public Inner and outer tires for cars, trolleybuses, dump trucks, trailers and semi-trailers.

In 2011-2013, the import volume of truck tires of the Customs Union member countries increased by 29.8%, during which the import volume from China increased by 36.3%, while the truck tires imported from China accounted for 64% of the total Russian imports in 2013. The import value reached 495 million US dollars, accounting for 23% of the Russian market. According to preliminary estimates by the Eurasian Economic Commission, the dumping margin of Chinese tires reached 198%.

In 2011-2013, the demand for truck tires by Customs Union members increased by 5.1%, while the truck tire production of the Customs Union member countries fell by 9.2%. At the same time, the proportion of truck tires produced by the customs union member countries in the internal market fell by 11.1%.

In order to compete with the prices of tires imported from China, the companies of the customs union member countries were forced to lower the selling price. In 2013, as production costs increased, this led to a decline in profit margins and losses.

The Eurasian Economic Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation against Chinese truck tires under the complaints of automobile tire manufacturers in Russia, Russia’s Yaroslav tire factory, Russia’s Lower Kamsk tire factory and Belarus tire factory. .
