Josh Boyajian witnessed a house fire in Cicero on Sunday night and shared his account of the incident:
Cicero experienced a basement fire last night at 1225 59th Avenue. Engine 1 was the first to arrive, and heavy smoke was already visible coming from the basement. Truck 2 took control of Sector 1 and began ladder operations on the roof. Engine 1 quickly made a knock using a 2½-inch line through the back door. I snapped a few photos with my phone to capture the scene.
The firefighters worked swiftly under challenging conditions, trying to contain the flames before they could spread further. It's always alarming to see such an event happen so close to home. The neighborhood was on high alert, and many residents gathered to watch the response. It's clear that the crews were well-prepared and focused during the operation.
