The Newport Township Fire Protection District, located in Wadsworth within Lake County and part of MABAS Division 4, has now been added to the site. This fire department serves a large area that stretches all the way to the Wisconsin border. They operate from two stations and maintain a diverse fleet of equipment. Their resources include three fire engines, a pumper squad, an elliptical tanker, two ambulances, a brush unit, a tracked ATV, and two vintage R-Model Mack trucks from the 1980s used as TRT support units. These trucks are a unique part of their history and still play a role in their operations today. Below is a photo of one of their key vehicles, a Kubota ATV used for off-road emergencies and access to difficult terrain. The image was taken by Larry Shapiro. Another image shows one of their specialized trucks, likely a crane or high-reach unit, which plays a crucial role in various rescue and firefighting scenarios. Station 1 is conveniently located near the Wadsworth Post Office, just off Wadsworth Road. It's situated at 39010 Caroline and is well-equipped with a wide range of apparatus. A photo of Station 1, also captured by Larry Shapiro, gives a clear view of the station's layout and the number of vehicles it houses. Finally, here's a close-up of the department’s emblem, showcasing their identity and pride in serving the community.
