Here's his firsthand account of the incident: A two-story home was engulfed in heavy flames on one side, which caused damage to the neighboring house. Engine 9, the first arriving unit, made a strong initial attack and brought the fire under control by the time I arrived. Two 1 3/4-inch hoselines were deployed from Engine 9. Truck 9 had their aerial ladder ready in case they needed to access the roof. On scene, there were Engines 9, 8, and 10, along with Truck 9, Battalion Chief 2, and ambulances 8, 9, and 10.
