Jim Skrabel witnessed a fire this morning in Joliet at 1701 Sierra Highland Court. Here's his firsthand account of the incident:

A two-story home was engulfed in heavy flames on one side, which caused damage to the neighboring house. Engine 9, the first arriving unit, made a strong initial attack and managed to knock the fire down by the time I arrived. Two 1 3/4-inch lines were deployed from Engine 9, while Truck 9 had their jacks ready in case they needed to use the aerial device for roof access. The responding units included Engines 9, 8, and 10, along with Truck 9, B/C 2, and ambulances 8, 9, and 10.

This was a fast-moving fire that required quick action from multiple units. It's clear that the firefighters responded efficiently, preventing further spread and minimizing damage. The community was fortunate that no injuries were reported.
